Day 5:

So I've been thinking about my "Gifts for Him" blog for weeks and I've written draft after draft and decided that my "Gifts for Her" could apply to to "Him" because who ultimately doesn't love thoughtful gifts? So when your thinking about giving someone a gift, just be thoughtful about it or like I said yesterday, just ask them. A guy friend of mine literally asked to me to tell him what I wanted specifically, and my first thought was, really? But I soon appreciated the gesture because then I can get exactly what I want or need and he is appreciating me. "A Starbucks gift card and a prophetic word", and now I will get to enjoy a Pumpkin Spice Latte and hear kind words from Jesus through a friend. Admit it, sounds awesome right?

I'm not good at making Christmas Lists. My mom asks us for one each year (which is amazing!) and I give her things that I do want and hope to love when there in my hand but the older I get, I'm realizing that I miss having things to play with on Christmas Day. When I was a kid, I asked for toys...like most children and when we finished unwrapping everything I would dart to my room and play with all my toys. The last couple years, I was so broke, that I asked for things I needed instead of wanted. I needed printer ink to print papers for school. I needed new boots to keep me warm, granted they were cute but more necessity than want. This year I asked for a Wii U and Mario Kart. I want to play! Being a kid is way more fun. But when I think of my favorite Christmas present it was actually a couple years ago during my broke phase. My sister worked at Kate Spade and they had such beautiful boxes and bags to wrap there product in. I know, I know, Kate Spade has beautiful things but my eye was on the boxes. I would beg Amanda to bring some boxes home so I could organize my desk and my closet and I think over the span of 2-3 months, she brought me one box. But on Christmas morning, can you guess what she gave me, like 30 boxes of all different sizes and colors, different size and colored bags. I literally balled with tears of joy! She also got a beautiful giraffe wallet but those boxes meant so much to me. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

The best gifts are the ones that are thought out, and when you really think about who someone is, you will know what to get them.
