So let me ask you a question. Have you ever written your name? If the answer is yes, then Congratulations! You are creative. You had to physically create your name with some kind of writing utensil and some kind of surface.

The definition, according to Webster Dictionary, of creativity: the ability to create.

I hate it when people say they're not creative because if that were true then they wouldn't exist. Your mind is creating thoughts every second. Your body is creating new cells. It is physically impossible to not create. "Oh well, then I'm not artistic", that is not true either. You are the only one in the world with your kind of handwriting, it may be similar to someone else, but you are the only one who created your signature. Sure people can copy it but you created it first. If you cook something in the oven, you created art. If your meal turned out horrible, you are simply learning an art. But you created it.

The definition of art: skill acquired by experience, study or observation.

There is something about when you decide to do something with your hands that is so rewarding (at first), creating anything is a process...

The excitement of starting something.

Is it turning out how you thought?

Oh my gosh, this is going to be horrible!

No, no wait, I can fix it...I think.

Is it done? Nope.

Ok, now its done and it looks amazing!

Why is creativity good for the soul? Because when you realize you are a creator, then your soul is at peace. Finding identity is a process for all of us and we express that process somehow, someway and being a creator is just a part of it. Want to change the world? Create a world. Does this make sense?

No matter what religion or faith you are, this applies. Somehow the world we live in was created and from a creation, we can create. I believe God created us and this world. We can be the change we want to see in the world with heavenly creative thinking and ideas. When we fully partner with Jesus, everything changes for the better.
